"The F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft crashed during a flight over the Yellow Sea at 08:43 on December 11, 2023. The pilot ejected from the aircraft with the ejection seat. The pilot was rescued by the Republic of Korea Navy. His condition is stable. The condition of the pilot, who was taken to Kunsan Air Base, will be evaluated later. No further details about the pilot's name or condition will be disclosed."

An investigation has been launched to determine why the plane crashed.

TRANSPORT PLANES CRASHED IN JAPAN AND AUSTRALIA

The US Osprey-type aircraft crashed in Australia's Melville Island in August, killing 3 people and injuring 5 others. In the last days of November, the same type of plane crashed near the Japanese island of Yakushima. The US media announced that 8 people on board had also lost their lives.

Following these accidents, the US Air Force announced that the use of Osprey-type aircraft on missions had been stopped.
