Jobless claims exceeded expectations! Jobless claims exceeded expectations!

In a statement to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Microsoft announced that it received notification from the IRS for the 2004-2013 tax period.

In the statement, it was stated that the notification was related to an ongoing dispute with the IRS regarding the audit of how the company distributes its profits between different countries and regions, and in this context, it was noted that the IRS asked Microsoft to pay an additional tax of $ 28.9 billion in addition to penalties and interest.

In the statement, it was reported that Microsoft disagreed with the IRS's additional tax demand and that the situation would be challenged before the judicial authorities if necessary.

Underlining that Microsoft has always complied with IRS rules and paid taxes in the US and around the world, the statement noted that over $67 billion in taxes have been paid to the US since 2004.

The statement emphasized that the company's income tax contingency provisions were adequate as of September 30.
