Texas Governor Greg Abbott said in a statement that as part of "Operation Lone Star", since April 2022, they have sent 18,500 migrants to New York, 13,500 to Chicago, 12,500 to Washington DC, 3,200 to Philadelphia, 3,200 to Denver and 940 to Los Angeles.
Thus, in the last 1.5 years, 51,840 of the migrants who crossed the Mexico-Texas border were sent by bus to other cities, Abbott said, adding that they will continue to do so as US President Joe Biden continues his "failed immigration policies".
Abbott stated that "Operation Lone Star" will continue to fill the dangerous gaps created by the Biden administration's refusal to secure the border.
Last week, Governor Abbott announced that state police and security forces will now arrest people who enter the state illegally from foreign countries.
The US Department of Homeland Security announced that there has been an influx of 250,000 migrants at the Texas-Mexico border in the last 2 months.
