A priest working in a church in the Lower Carpathia region of southern Poland has been arrested on pedophilia charges.

According to a statement released by the Krosno District Prosecutor's Office, the priest, whose name was not disclosed, was detained on charges of taking nude photos of children, violating their bodily inviolability and taking pornographic photos with them.

The priest, who denied the charges against him during his interrogation, was arrested by the court.

ALL VICTIMS UNDER THE AGE OF 15

The priest, who will spend the next 3 months in prison, will face up to 10 years in prison for "making pornographic photographs and video recordings of children under the age of 15" and up to 5 years in prison for "possessing, storing and disseminating pornographic photographs and images of children under the age of 15".

The priest will also face a fine or 1 year in prison for "violating the inviolability of the body of a person by violence or other means".

In a statement released by the Krosno District Prosecutor's Office, the number of child victims, their gender and the number of times they were abused by the priest were not disclosed in the interest of children. However, it was reported that all of the victims were under the age of 15.
