The portal that connected people in real-time in Dublin and New York, 5,000 kilometers apart, was shut down due to inappropriate behavior.

Thousands of people visited the two-way high-tech sculptures that allowed people on both sides to see and interact with each other.

The live streaming portal between the two countries has been temporarily shut down following "inappropriate behavior" in the Irish capital.

People on the Irish side of the portal were seen showing people in New York their body parts and images of the September 11 attacks.

Dublin City Council said that while there were a number of wholesome moments, including Irish dancing and even a marriage proposal, a handful of people behaved "inappropriately" and the portal was temporarily closed.

A spokesperson for Dublin City Council said on Monday evening that technical solutions to solve this problem will be put in place in the next 24 hours.

"We will continue to monitor the situation with our partners in New York over the coming days to ensure that the portal continues to provide a positive experience for both cities and the world," he said.
