In a written statement released by the Presidency, it was reported that President Sall dismissed the government as of October 6.
The statement said that Prime Minister Amadou Ba will continue to hold this post and will form a new government as soon as possible.
President Sall was expected to enter the presidential election on February 25, 2024 with a new cabinet.
Sall, who first came to power in 2012 and was re-elected in 2019, announced that he would not run in the next elections. It was reported that the presidential candidate of the government coalition was Prime Minister Ba.
