In a statement released by the Public Relations Unit of Iran's West Azerbaijan Provincial Prosecutor's Office, it was announced that 4 people who were found to be linked to the Israeli foreign intelligence service Mossad were executed. "Four members of the sabotage team linked to the Zionist regime, named Vafa Hanareh, Aram Omri, Rahman Perhazu and Nesim Nemazi, who carried out extensive actions against the country's security under the direction of the Mossad, were executed this morning after legal proceedings," the statement said.

The statement said that these individuals communicated directly with the Mossad, took photographs of some people linked to Iran's security institutions, set fire to their vehicles and houses, and received money from the Mossad in return for these actions. "The individuals, who carried out their actions in West Azerbaijan, Tehran and Hormuzgan provinces, attempted to assassinate Iran's security and intelligence forces, but these attempts failed," the statement said.

The statement added that a total of 10 people were tried in the case and 4 of them were charged with causing corruption on earth and waging war against the state and were sentenced to death, while each of the remaining defendants was sentenced to 10 years in prison for "communicating with the Zionist regime to disrupt the security of the country." On December 16, Iran executed one person for allegedly spying for Israel's foreign intelligence service Mossad and other foreign intelligence services.
