Britney Spears won her legal battle to remove her father Jamie Spears' 13-year guardianship and gained her freedom. The singer reached an agreement with her father on legal payments.
According to TMZ, Jamie Spears will not make any payments to the singer, but the singer must pay her father's legal expenses of more than 2 million dollars.

"Although the guardianship was terminated in November 2021, Spears' desire for full freedom has now been realized," Britney's lawyer Mathew S. Rosengart told People.
The terms of the agreement were not disclosed in detail, but Rosengart added: "As she desired, Spears will no longer need to attend or participate in court. It is our honor and privilege to represent, protect and defend Britney Spears."

In this way, Jamie Spears and the singer will not have to go to court over allegations of financial misconduct during guardianship.
Jamie Spears' lawyer Alex Weingarten said, "Jamie is very happy that everything is now in the past. He loves his daughter very much and everything he has done so far has been to protect and support her. It is unfortunate that some irresponsible people in Britney's life have chosen to drag this case out this long."

In line with the decision taken in 2008, a significant part of Britney Spears' independence was taken away; most of her financial, career and personal decisions were made by her father Jamie Spears, who was appointed as her guardian.
The guardianship of her father, who held all of Spears' rights, ended in November 2021.
