Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will be in Egypt for the summit on Saturday, sources told Reuters, as the escalation of the Israel-Hamas war heightens concerns. French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna will also attend the summit.

Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa also confirmed that she will visit Egypt tomorrow.

"I plan to visit Egypt to attend the Cairo Peace Summit hosted by the Egyptian government to discuss the situation surrounding Israel and Palestine," Kamikawa said.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will also attend the meeting.

A source in the Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus said that Greek Cypriot President Nicos Christodoulides will also attend the summit and will be accompanied by the country's Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos.

Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa will also attend the Cairo Summit, Bahrain's state news agency reported.

Earlier it was reported that Rishi Sunak would travel to Egypt, the third stop on his tour of the region as part of diplomatic efforts to prevent an escalation of the Israel-Hamas war. However, it is not yet clear whether Sunak will attend the summit.
