In a written statement, the Municipality of Tenerife announced that a woman living in the region was fined 1500 euros "for violating municipal regulations by feeding doves in the street more than once".

In the statement, it was emphasized that the municipality will continue to impose sanctions on people who feed animals in public places as it may create public health problems, and that the municipality fulfills its responsibility as a city administrator.

In Tenerife, the municipal ordinance regulating the protection and adoption of animals prohibits feeding or giving food to any animal in public areas without administrative authorization.
