According to the data in the file published on the museum's website, there were 36 shark attacks in the US last year. 2 of these attacks resulted in death.
The data showed that last year's attacks in the US decreased compared to the 44 attacks that occurred the previous year.
Shark attacks in the US account for 52 percent of the total attacks worldwide.
The state of Florida ranks first with 16 shark attacks last year.
Following the US, Australia ranked second with 15 attacks, 4 of which resulted in death, and New Caledonia ranked third with 3 attacks, one of which resulted in death.
In the file, it was noted that 22 of the total 91 attacks identified last year were carried out by provoked sharks.
