Two earthquakes with a magnitude of 6.7 occurred in the northeast of Papua New Guinea.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported that two earthquakes with a magnitude of 6.7 occurred 52 kilometers and 56 kilometers southeast of the city of Madang, about 6 minutes apart.

No tsunami warning was issued after the earthquakes, one recorded at a depth of 74 kilometers and the other at a depth of 53.5 kilometers.

No loss of life or property has been reported yet.
