Bitcoin is on its own path
In a town hall meeting on Fox News, Trump said that Bitcoin is making its way and that people increasingly want to use Bitcoin. However, he also emphasized the need for regulation at this point. Trump responded to Fox News host Laura Ingraham's question "Does the US need to take the right step to adopt Bitcoin?" as follows: "You probably need regulation. But a lot of people are adopting Bitcoin. I see more people wanting to pay with Bitcoin... I'll live with it somehow."
Past Stance
In 2019, during his presidency, Trump criticized cryptocurrencies, saying that he was not a fan of them and that they were "not money". He also described central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) as dangerous and said he would not allow them if elected.
