The FBI, the United States' domestic intelligence and security force, has announced that it is investigating the alleged hacking of the Trump campaign by Iran.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's campaign emails were allegedly hacked.
Campaign spokesman Steven Cheung argued that the attack was carried out by "foreign sources hostile to the United States" and said, "The documents were obtained illegally. Chaos is aimed."
Cheung pointed out that in the report published by Politico magazine, "Iranian attackers broke into the account of a senior US official".
Commenting on the report published by Microsoft, Iran's Mission to the United Nations (UN) denied allegations of interfering in the US presidential elections or organizing a cyber attack.
Meanwhile, no evidence was presented for the claim from Trump's campaign.
On the other hand, the report claimed that the Iranian military intelligence unit sent phishing mail to the US presidential election campaign through the account of a former advisor who was captured in June 2024.
