Speaking at the National People and Defense Conference at the Salen military base, Bohlin emphasized that Russia must be taken seriously and said, "There could be war in Sweden, our people must be ready for war."

Bohlin said that although Sweden has not been at war for 210 years, the security situation in Europe has deteriorated with Russia's attack on Ukraine. "We must take Russia's rapid armament seriously. Peace has been a long process for Sweden, but now the security situation has changed," Bohlin said, adding that 210 years of peace had come to an end.

Bohlin said that the Swedish government is trying to strengthen its defense capacity by raising public awareness of the possibility of war and that they are taking Ukraine's resistance against Russia as an example.
