The world's largest cruise ship "Icon of the Seas" started its maiden voyage from the Port of Miami in Florida, USA. The ship, which is 365 meters long and weighs approximately 250 thousand tons, belonging to the cruise company Royal Caribbean, embarked on a 7-day tour of the Caribbean from Miami. The world's largest cruise ship, built for 2 billion dollars at a shipyard in Turku, Finland, has a capacity to carry 7,600 passengers.

On the other hand, environmentalists warn that the world's largest ship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) will leak harmful methane gas into the air.

Royal Caribbean, on the other hand, reported that the ship has 24 percent more energy efficiency than the International Maritime Organization's requirements for modern ships.
