The Defeating Explicit Forged Images and Non-Consensual Arrangements Act, introduced by Democratic Senator Dick Durbin with Republican support, would give victims of such digital abuse the right to sue anyone who "knowingly produces or possesses digital forgeries with the intent to expose them" for damages.

The bill has bipartisan support in the Senate. But with a legislative agenda full of government funding, border security and aid to Ukraine, it is unclear whether the bill will pass quickly. 

On the other hand, Taylor Swift is reportedly considering legal action over the fake images.
