The New York City Portal is located in front of the Flatiron Building on Fifth Avenue, while the portal in Dublin is located on O'Connell Street.

The Portal was created by Lithuanian artist Benediktas Gylys. "Portals invite people to meet across borders and allow us to experience our world as it really is, united and one," Gylys said of his high-tech sculpture.

"It showcases the vibrancy of our streets and offers a new point of human connection between New Yorkers and Dubliners," said Gylys, who is excited to bring the Portal to the city as an interactive public art installation.

In the coming months, there will be simultaneous programs in both cities to share cultural performances.

The Portal presents a new art of sculpture that uses science and technology to bring together people from around the world.
