"IT WILL BE THE BIGGEST FILM WE HAVE EVER SHOT"

The countdown has begun for the biographical film about the life of pop icon Michael Jackson, who died in 2009. Antoine Fuqua, who has signed successful films such as First Day, Justice, Shooter and King Arthur, is in the director's chair of the highly anticipated film.

The film titled "Michael" will be released on 18 April 2025. In the film, the famous singer is played by his nephew Jaafar Jackson.

Jim Packer of the film's production company Lionsgate spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the film. "I think this will be the biggest film we've ever made," Packer said, adding that fans have high expectations for the film.

FIRST BIG ROLE

Jaafar Jackson, who will portray his uncle in the film to be titled "Michael", officially announced that he will take on this role by using the statements "I am honoured to bring the story of my uncle Michael to the screen. See you soon with all the fans around the world" on his social media account.

FIRST FRAME RELEASED

The first frame from the film has been released. His nephew, who portrayed a moment when the King of Pop took the stage, was seen in one of Jackson's most iconic looks. It was stated that the look in the published frame was from the Dangerous tour organised in 1992-93.

The shot was taken by Kevin Mazur, who captured many moments of Jackson's career and immortalised the "This Is It" rehearsals.

Jaafar Jackson is the son of the singer's older brother Jermaine Jackson. Jaafar, who has been dancing and singing like the other members of the family since childhood, will take part in such a large-scale project for the first time.

Jaafar Jackson had previously shared the moment he turned into Michael Jackson for the first time by saying "The adventure begins" on his social media account. Here is that frame...

NAME TO REVIVE YOUR CHILDHOOD

On the other hand, the name that will portray Jackson's childhood in the film has been announced. The "King of Pop" will be played by 9-year-old Juliano Krue Valdi. Valdi will act in the scenes when the singer became famous as the "Jackson 5" with his brothers. "This opportunity is very precious to me because Jackson is the King of Pop and has a very special place in my heart. For 5 years I have been dancing to his songs and he makes me feel very special. I feel very good when I dance to his songs. I love Michael Jackson's energy," she said.
