The following coaches are ranked from first to sixth place: Andy Reid of the Kansas City Chiefs, Kyle Shanahan of the San Francisco 49ers, John Harbaugh of the Baltimore Ravens, Mike Tomlin of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Sean McVay of the Los Angeles Rams and Matt LaFleur of the Green Bay Packers (cited in Morgan Cannon, Pride of Detroit).

"I hold Dan Campbell in high regard." Kimes further commented, "I admire the manner in which he discusses the sport, and I find his assertiveness admirable." During the season, there was the infamous ‘didn’t report’ incident. I found it admirable that he was entirely unapologetic about it. I found it admirable that he stated, "This is our identity." We have adhered to this stance. "We are not deviating."

"He epitomises the concept of culture in all its forms, encompassing not only the softer aspects but also the managerial approaches he employs in the context of the games themselves."

It is challenging to place Campbell above the five head coaches who have either won a Super Bowl or been to one, and this assessment is therefore accurate.

Following a 3-13 season in 2021, the Lions have achieved a combined 21-13 record since, including a 2023 campaign in which Detroit achieved a 12-5 record, won the division, and advanced to the NFC Championship Game, where they took a lead into halftime.

However, Campbell's success is not solely determined by the number of victories and defeats. He has transformed the culture of the franchise and encouraged his players to embrace the new approach.

Should the Lions succeed in achieving their legitimate Super Bowl aspirations in 2024, Campbell will ascend the ranks of the most accomplished head coaches in the National Football League.
