1- NEVER

When you use the word "never", which implies unhappiness and certainty, you are telling your partner that he or she is not well and that there is no hope for change. This can be quite hurtful.

2- ALWAYS

"Always" conveys a sense of rigidity and righteousness. When you say "always" you are telling your partner that he or she is wrong, you are right and there is nothing that can be done about it. This, as you can appreciate, is not a solutionist attitude.

3- BUT

"But" implies a sense of manipulation and lack of honesty. When you say "but" it negates what has already been said and turns a positive statement into a negative one. This prevents intimacy from building between you.

4- SEPARATION/DIVORCE

Threatening separation or divorce, suggesting it as an option or accusing your partner of ruining your relationship can lead to an irreversible situation. Communicating in this way can wear down your relationship and cause you to take different paths.

5- BAD WORDS/ SWEARING

When you say a bad word or swear at your partner, all that will be left is a trace of a rude, offensive behavior. Doing this regularly will destroy your partner's spirit and kill the relationship.
