Black smoke was seen billowing near the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., on Friday after a vehicle fire broke out in the area.

D.C. Fire and EMS wrote on X that "the apparent source was a vehicle fire on the George Washington Parkway in Virginia that was extinguished."

Crews from the agency are en route to the scene. Arlington Fire and EMS said the fire involved a "pickup truck and trailer."
