The body of 48-year-old Konovalova, the editor-in-chief of Kuban, a pro-Kremlin TV channel, was found on January 5 at her home in the Krasnodar region.

BODY OF HER EX-HUSBAND FOUND NEARBY

Konovalova was found near the body of her 52-year-old ex-husband, it said.

"Zoya Konovalova, the head of the Kuban Internet Group of the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, has died. Our colleague was 48 years old," it said.

POISONING SUSPECTED

No visible injuries were found on the bodies of Konovalova and her ex-husband, Russia's state news agency RIA Novosti reported. Police suspect poisoning in initial investigations.

A NEW SUSPICIOUS DEATH

Konovalova's death comes after another Russian journalist, Alexander Rybin, was found dead in the Rostov region of Russia bordering Ukraine. Rybin's body was found near a highway and the cause of death was unclear, friends and his mother said. An investigation into Konovalova's death is ongoing.
