Israeli army spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Richard Hecht said that the plans for Gaza may not conform to widespread expectations of a ground offensive, and that it could be something else.
Lieutenant Colonel Richard Hecht said in a statement that the Israeli army is preparing for the next phase of its offensive against the Gaza Strip, but that the plans may not conform to widespread expectations of an imminent ground offensive.
In a regular briefing to reporters, Lt. Col. Richard Hecht said, "We are preparing for the next phases of the war. We haven't said what those will be. Everyone is talking about a ground operation. It could be something different," he said.
"We are doing everything we can to minimize the damage," the spokesman said, adding that they were using weapons based on international law.
