A member of the set crew of the movie 'Je le jure' has accused French actor and director Samuel Theis of raping her at a party last summer when she was too drunk to consent. The alleged incident took place in an apartment rented for the production in Metz, France.

"THE RELATIONSHIP IS CONSENSUAL"

Theis, who played the wife of Sandra Hüller's character in 'Anatomy of a Fall', which won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, said in a statement that the relationship was consensual. The actor's lawyer added that no other charges have been filed against Samuel Theis to date.

WORKING AWAY FROM THE SET CREW

Post-production on the new French film 'Je le jure' is underway, but the production company is reportedly forcing Theis to complete the project away from the crew. 'Independent Turkish' reports that Samuel Theis has to notify the production if he wants to intervene. Those who wish can visit him at a remote location.

WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE CEREMONY IF NOMINATED

Theis, 45, could also be nominated for a César at the end of the month for his performance in Anatomy of a Fall. Last year, the Academy changed its rules to allow those accused or convicted of acts of sexual violence to be nominated even if they cannot attend the ceremony.
