Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed BRICS and Ukraine with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the phone.

According to a statement released by the Kremlin Palace, Putin and Modi had a telephone conversation. During the conversation, Russia-India relations were discussed, especially in the axis of trade, logistics, economy and energy.

Putin and Modi emphasized their desire to further intensify "mutually beneficial" bilateral relations and wished each other success in this year's elections in Russia and India.

The BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), of which Russia is the chairman this year, was also discussed during the meeting, and Modi said that they are ready to support the realization of Russia's goals and objectives in BRICS.

During the meeting where the issue of Ukraine was also mutually evaluated, it was agreed to continue contacts.
