The station in the main town of Dnipro was attacked and several houses were hit.
Ukraine's Interior Ministry said that an 8-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy were among the 8 people who lost their lives as a result of the targeting of private houses.
The train station and a 5-storey building in the city center were hit, killing 2 people and injuring 19 others. A railroad operator said a woman who was on duty at the time was killed and 7 other railroad workers were wounded.
Ministry officials warned that the number of dead and wounded may increase as rescue services continue to search for the wounded and deceased in the rubble. A maternity hospital was also hit.
