Russia says it has shot down four US-made ATACMS long-range missiles recently supplied to Kiev by Washington over the Crimean peninsula.
The defense ministry said in a statement today that the night attack was "thwarted" but did not specify whether the falling debris caused any damage.
In April, the United States confirmed that it had sent these missiles to Ukraine, which has been pressing to hit targets well beyond the front line.
Ukraine first used US ATACMS missiles against Russia in October.
Moscow says these missiles will not fundamentally change the outcome of the conflict.
