Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved Rosbank's purchase of shares of Russian companies held by the French financial company Societe Generale, it was stated.

According to the Russian TASS agency, Rosbank will buy shares in several energy companies, including Rosseti, RusHydro, Inter RAO, Gazprom, Gazprom Neft, Lukoil, Surgutneftegaz, Rosneft, Tatneft, Transneft and Unipro.

The companies also include VTB Bank, telecommunications company Rostelecom, airline Aeroflot, diamond mining company Alrosa, steel and mining company Severstal and gold producer Polyus.

In 2022, Societe Generale announced that it had ceased its activities in the banking and insurance sectors in Russia and had reached an agreement on the transfer of its activities in these areas to Interros Capital.
