Police in Germany reportedly shot and killed a 31-year-old man with a cutting tool (machete) at the University of Mannheim.
In a statement made by the police and the prosecutor's office, it was stated in the library of the University of Mannheim that "a 31-year-old man who was banned from entering the university, who was behaving negatively and had a cutting tool in his hand, was shot and neutralized".
Police stated that the person in question had a sharp instrument in his hand and attacked a university employee when they arrived at the university, and that the person who was taken to the hospital died.
It is not known what the purpose of the person, who is a German citizen and lives in the city of Mannheim, was coming to the university and the incident is being investigated.
