Passengers were safely evacuated, there were no injuries and the plane was not damaged, the Russian Federal Aviation Agency said in a statement.

It was stated that expert teams were sent to the scene, and according to preliminary reports, the landing in the river occurred due to piloting error, and the pilot landed in the freezing river instead of the runway. It was reported that there were 30 passengers and 4 crew members on board.

Local media reported that the pilot mistook the snow-covered frozen river for a runway and landed. The East Siberian Aviation Prosecutor's Office and the Yakutia Transport Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into the incident.
