Olympiacos have had a tough time in this season's competition.

After finishing third in the 2024 Europa League Group A, behind West Ham United and Freiburg, they joined the Conference League.

In the knockout stage, they first knocked out Hungarian side Ferencvaros with a 2-0 aggregate score. Then they knocked out Israeli team Maccabi Tel Aviv with a 7-5 aggregate in the round of 16.

They faced Turkish side Fenerbahce in the quarterfinals, where they prevailed in a dramatic penalty shootout.

Olympiacos secured their spot in the final by beating English club Aston Villa 6-2 on aggregate.

The Italian side Fiorentina got off to a good start in their European campaign for the 2023-24 season.

After finishing the Conference League Group F as leaders without a loss, they took Israeli team Maccabi Haifa down with a 5-4 aggregate in the Round of 16.

In the quarterfinals, they beat Czech side Viktoria Plzen 2-0 on aggregate to advance to the semifinal round against Belgium’s Club Brugge.
