J. K. Rowling's seven-book "Harry Potter" series has become a global phenomenon both in books and movies. Lord Voldemort, the famous character of the series, was named after a newly discovered ant species.
The ant, called Leptanilla voldemort (L. Voldemort), is a light-colored species with a slender build, spindly legs, sharp jaws and light color.
Mark Wong from the University of Western Australia said that the ant they found in the Pilbara region resembled Voldemort with these features. "Both the terrifying enemy in Harry Potter and the ant have a thin appearance. They both live in the shadows."
