The baby boy, with his umbilical cord still attached, was found on January 7 by a construction company worker who noticed a foul smell outside an apartment complex. According to police, the baby was found in a reusable shopping bag inside a garbage bin.
An autopsy revealed no signs of trauma or injury. While the investigation will continue to determine the final cause of death and whether the baby was born alive or stillborn, the parents who threw the baby in the trash were arrested.
