Li Fuyan from China had been suffering from headaches for four years, but when she finally saw doctors, the surprising truth came out.

A rusty knife was found in the head of the 30-year-old man who was seen by doctors with headache, bad breath and breathing difficulties.

Following the discovery, Li revealed that he had been stabbed in his lower right jaw four years ago.

The knife then lodged in his skull, but no one noticed.

25 CM BLADE RUSTED INSIDE HIS BODY

Over the years, the 25 cm long blade had rusted away and surgeons said it was a 'miracle' that Li did not become seriously ill because of it.

Adding to the miraculousness of the incident was the fact that the knife was located in the back of the man's throat, which meant it missed the carotid artery and other important structures.

The 2011 incident has recently gone viral on the internet again.
