French President Emmanuel Macron showed his sporting skills this time as he prepares his country for the Paris Summer Olympics.

Macron, a known football fan, wore a shirt for a charity match with football legends and famous players at a club in Yvelines, west of Paris.

Former World Cup winners Laurent Blanc and Didier Deschamps took part in the event to raise money for a children's health charity chaired by First Lady Brigitte Macron.

Known as the youngest ever president of modern France, the 46-year-old Macron has taken many opportunities to showcase his athletic skills and physique since his election in 2017.

Earlier this year, photos of Macron boxing went viral on social media and were widely perceived as retaliation against Russian President Putin.

French president Macron played alongside soccer icons such as Didier Drogba and Eden Hazard on the pitch, where he started as a midfielder.

Other notables such as MMA fighter Cyril Gane and former German goalkeeper Jens Lehmann also attended the match.

Not new to the soccer field, Macron has already participated in a charity match.

Ahead of the international Olympic showpiece in Paris from July 26 to August 11, the charity match underscores Macron's ongoing relationship with sport, both as a philanthropic cause and as a means of promoting national spirit.
