Since the beginning of 2023, the Murrieta Police Department has been posting videos on social media showing Lego heads on the faces of detainees. Last week, after one of the videos went viral on social media, the police department made a statement, stating that due to the law that came into force in California on January 1, restrictions were imposed on showing the faces of detainees.

The Murrieta Police Department said they were contacted by Lego on March 19 and told that they no longer wanted their products to be used in such content.

"We understand that request and will comply with it," said Commissioner Jeremy Durrant.

Durrant said they would look at other options to make social media posts more interesting.
