Kenyan President William Ruto and his wife Rachel Ruto welcomed King Charles III and his wife Queen Camilla with an official ceremony at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the capital Nairobi, according to the country's media.
King Charles III, who is visiting a Commonwealth member country for the first time since his accession to the throne, aims to strengthen the historical ties and relations between the two countries.
In addition to the capital Nairobi, King Charles III will also visit the Indian Ocean city of Mombasa, where he will meet with opinion leaders and religious leaders.
He called on Britain to apologize for the inhumane treatment of Kenyan citizens during the colonial period.
