A 39-year-old man was detained on charges of breeding dangerous dogs. The dogs were killed by police officers responding to a tip-off.Martin's daughter claimed that the dogs were banned XL bully dogs, but police said the breed had not yet been identified by experts.Esther Martin's daughter Sonia Martin thanked all the neighbors who tried to save her mother's life.

Sonia Martin said that her mother had previously warned the owners that the dogs could be aggressive.

Sonia Martin said that they had lost a sister two years ago and that her mother was trying to put her life back together after that:

"She loved going on day trips, especially bus tours. She had arranged a few trips with her nieces and nephews.

"My mother, the grandmother of our children, died. I'm getting married in a couple of years and my mom won't get to see it."

XL bully dogs are the largest of the American bully breed.

In the UK, it is illegal to breed, sell or abandon them. To get an exemption, owners must insure their animals, sterilize them and pay a £92 fee. They must also be leashed and muzzled between people.
