According to national media reports, Ruto said in a speech in the capital Nairobi that they have identified 35 companies that they will offer to the private sector for sale.

Noting that privatizations will be easier with the new regulations made in the laws and that they will not get stuck in bureaucracy, Ruto stated that they are also considering privatizing about 100 companies that they believe will come to a better point in the private sector.

Kenya, which has inflation and foreign debt problems, had made a loan agreement of 938 million dollars with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Kenya's public debt is stated to be approximately 66 billion dollars.
