The 96th Academy Awards (Oscars) will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Kimmel will return as the host of the Academy Awards for the second consecutive year and fourth time in total.

Jimmy Kimmel made his debut at the 89th Academy Awards. Kimmel hosted the Oscars last year after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.

Kimmel's hosting last year "helped stabilize" the Oscars. Kimmel prioritized a 12 percent increase in ratings, attracting 18.7 million viewers.

The fourth most Oscar hosts in history
Jimmy Kimmel started to enter the record books with the Oscars he presented. Kimmel is the fourth person in history to host the Oscars the most times, after Bob Hope who hosted 19 times, Billy Crystal who hosted 9 times and Johnny Carson who hosted 5 times.

The 96th Academy Awards will be presented on March 10 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. Shortlists will be announced on December 21 and nominees will be announced on January 23.
