Israel's Ministry of Telecommunications made a statement that they are in talks with the SpaceX company for the use of the satellite internet system Starlink.
In the statement, it was stated that this step will provide uninterrupted internet service to the towns and war zones around the Gaza border.
The statement also stated that Israel will apply for the first time to Starlink, which will serve as a backup in case other systems fail.
The company has not yet accepted Israel's request and did not comment on the ministry's statement, Bloomberg reported.
While the Israeli army was massing heavily on the Gaza border, comments about a possible ground operation "coming to an end" had appeared in both local and international media.
Israel is concerned about developments that could affect internet services in such a situation.
