Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant made statements on the Israel - Hamas war. Gallant said that Israel is waging a war against Hamas militants in order to bring about lasting change and preserve its existence as a prosperous democracy.
"After the Gaza Defense, there will be a strong, effective and lasting change," Gallant said.
Asked whether Iran knew about the Hamas attack from Gaza, Gallant said, "It doesn't matter whether Iran consented to the attack or not, it was an Iranian idea. Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas are on the same axis."
"The support we receive from the United States gives us freedom of action," Gallant added, thanking the US for its support.

"We will overthrow Hamas and destroy its military capability," said Israeli Defense Minister Gallant. "The road ahead is long, but Israel will win the war," Gallant added.
