The Israeli army announced that the number of captives identified as having been taken to the blockaded Gaza Strip has risen to 199, while the number of soldiers killed since October 7 has risen to 291.
Israeli Army Spokesperson Daniel Hagari said at a press conference that the families of 199 captives have been contacted and that the Israeli army and government are working day and night for their release.
Stating that they are doing their best to find out where the captives are, Hagari said that the number of soldiers killed since October 7 has increased to 291.
Palestinian factions have not made any statements about the prisoners they are holding so far.
Israel recently announced that 1,300 Israelis, including 286 soldiers, were killed in attacks from Gaza.
