Famous actor Martin Short was a guest on Sunday's episode of Club Random with Bill Maher. After the two were seen as intimate at the Golden Globes, claims that Short and Streep were flirting came to the fore.
Short, who was allegedly in love with Meryl Streep, with whom he starred in the series "Only Murders in the Building" for a while, clarified the issue.
"We are not a couple, we are just very close friends," Short said.
Short was married to Nancy Dolman, whom he married in 1980, until his wife passed away in 2010.
Meryl Streep divorced her husband of 45 years, Don Gummer, last October.
