According to the report, which was based on the document allegedly belonging to the Pakistani government and containing the content of the meeting, the US side conveyed to former Ambassador Majid Khan its discomfort with former Pakistani Prime Minister Khan's neutral stance in the Russia-Ukraine War.

Former Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu, who was present at the meeting, promised warmer relations between Washington and Islamabad if the no-confidence vote against Khan is passed, saying, "I think if the no-confidence vote against the Prime Minister is successful, all will be forgiven in Washington because the visit to Russia is seen as the Prime Minister's decision. To be honest, I think the Prime Minister's isolation from the US and Europe will be strong (if he remains in office)."

One day after the meeting on March 7, 2022, opposition parties in Pakistan submitted a no-confidence motion against former Prime Minister Imran Khan to the Secretariat of the Speaker of the National Assembly.

A month after the meeting, on April 10, 2022, Imran Khan's government collapsed after receiving 174 "no" votes in a confidence vote in the Pakistani Parliament.
