"We must not lose sight of the fact that the overwhelming majority of Palestinians have nothing to do with Hamas' horrific attacks and are suffering as a result," Biden said on his social media platform X.
MET WITH ABBAS AND NETANYAHU
US President Biden held a meeting with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas. Biden reportedly said that they are working with partners in the region to deliver humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza.
Biden met with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and discussed the supply of food, water and medicine to civilians.
Palestinian civilians are losing their lives in the Israeli counter-offensive. Tel Aviv is using internationally banned phosphorus bombs in Gaza. In addition, Israel has cut off the flow of food, fuel, water and electricity to Gazans.
"PHILISTINES HAVE A RIGHT TO SECURITY"
US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan spoke to CNN. "Palestinians in Gaza have a right to dignity, safety and security," Sullivan said.
"THE PURPOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT CARRIERS IS DETERRENCE"
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that Israel must take every precaution to avoid harming civilians. Referring to the aircraft carriers moving to the Mediterranean, Blinken said, "The aircraft carriers are not a provocation but a deterrent."
BLINKEN GOES TO ISRAEL AGAIN
On the other hand, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit Israel again tomorrow. Blinken visited Israel during the week and held a series of meetings and renewed Washington's support for Tel Aviv.
Blinken will visit Israel for the second time in a week to exchange views with Israeli leaders, the US State Department said in a statement. Blinken, who traveled to the region after the Hamas attack, met with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during a series of visits to six Gulf countries after Israel. The Saudi Crown Prince called for respect for international law in Gaza and demanded an end to attacks on civilians.
After his visit to Saudi Arabia, Blinken traveled to Egypt. Blinken's words "I'm here as a Jew, not as the US Secretary of State" during his contacts in Israel also drew reaction.
