Canadian singer The Weeknd, who recently came to the agenda with the "Idol" series, broke a new record on the digital music platform Spotify. The Weeknd's iconic song "Blinding Lights" became the first song to surpass 4 billion listens on the platform.
The song dethroned Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You". "Shape of You" was the most streamed song on Spotify.

Last month, the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) announced that Abel Tesfaye, the famous Canadian artist known by the stage name "The Weeknd" and WFP Goodwill Ambassador, will provide $2.5 million in aid to Gaza.
In a written statement made by WFP, it was noted that Tesfaye's 2.5 million dollar aid to Gaza corresponds to approximately 4 million food packages, and that this aid will provide 173 thousand Palestinians with food for two weeks.
