Hamas offers to extend the ceasefire Hamas offers to extend the ceasefire

"Its disproportionate attacks on Gaza, which are devoid of any moral basis, may push Israel to an unexpected and undesirable position in the eyes of the world public opinion.

Israel should remember that if it behaves like an organisation rather than a state, it will end up being treated like an organisation.

As Turkey, we are ready to do our part, including mediation and 'fair arbitration', to get our region out of this anaphora it has entered into."

President Erdoğan also used the following expressions in the message he shared on his social media account regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict:

"I would like to underline that... Permanent peace and tranquility in the region can only come with the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, whose legitimacy is based on UN resolutions, with 1967 borders and geographical integrity, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and recognised by the whole world.

Seeking a way out of this, pursuing aspirations other than this only means more destruction, more tears and loss of life.

We have never accepted and will never accept any step or action that does not respect the privacy of Jerusalem, which contains the holy places of the three Abrahamic religions, and the status of Haram al-Sharif, in which Al-Aqsa Mosque is located.

This is the only way for Israel to survive as a state and ensure the security of its citizens.

Otherwise, the events that have taken place since last Saturday will not be the last, and it will become inevitable that much greater tragedies will follow.

We never wish that neither Israel nor Palestine nor our region will be dragged into such a vicious circle.

May God grant our country, our region and the world lasting peace, tranquility and well-being."
