Elon Musk's Neuralink company is preparing for its first brain implant surgery.
The conditions that Neuralink is looking for volunteers for the first brain chip surgery have become clear.
NEURALINK SEEKS PARALYZED PATIENT
Neuralink is looking for an adult under the age of 40 who is a quadriplegic, or paralyzed in both arms or legs, Bloomberg reports.
The surgery will require removing a large piece of the person's skull to insert thin wires and electrodes into the brain.
A part of the skull will be replaced with a small chip that will remain there for several years.
WILL BE THE SIZE OF A COIN
The chip will be the size of a coin and will read the brain activity of the implanted patient.
The data from the brain waves will then be monitored on a computer or tablet.
This brain implant is expected to help transform the person's thoughts into commands through a computer.
COMPANY READY TO IMPLANT THE CHIP
After years of work, the Neuralink company is ready to test the brain chip on humans.
